Finishes Steel stairs are normally finished with a shop coat of modified
alkyd resin rust-inhibiting primer, which is gray in color. Additional finishes
include hot dip galvanizing or Awlgrip®, a polyurethane paint which
is available in a wide range of colors and can be supplied on a custom basis.
Aluminum stairs receive an etching wash primer. Hardwood tread overlays
and railings are sanded to a 120 grit smoothness and finished with one coat
of polyurethane sealer. At the customer's request, hardwood may be left
unsealed for staining by others. |
